NID 2018-19 Admission Process Begins

Applications to Bachelor of Design (B.Des) program at NID Ahmedabad and to Graduate Diploma Program in Design (GDPD) in NID Vijayawada and NID Kurukshetra have started.  NID Ahmedabad is declared as an Institute of National Importance by the Government and the institute functions under the aegis of under the DIPP, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.

NID Ahmedabad (100 seats):
- Product Design 
- Furniture & Interior Design
- Ceramic & Glass Design
- Animation Film Design 
- Film & Video Communication 
- Exhibition Design 
- Graphic Design 
- Textile, Apparel & Lifestyle Accessory Design 

NID Vijayawada and NID Kurukshetra(60 seats in each campus)
- Industrial Design 
- Communication Design
- Textile & Apparel Design

Admission Procedure at NID:
Admission to all of the design courses will be granted on the basis of a two-stage competitive exam. :
Stage 1: Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims will be conducted at various test centres across India (See Test Centres section). Candidates should note that appearing for the DAT Prelims or being ranked in the shortlist does not guarantee automatic entitlement to admission. 
Stage 2: Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Mains Candidates shortlisted after the DAT Prelims will be invited to appear for the Stage 2 DAT Main exams at NID’s campuse in Ahmedabad.

Application Procedure for NID:
- Applications need to be filled online
- Application fee of Rs. 2000/- (Rs.1000/- for reserved categories) can be made online or via DD

Last Date to Apply:  31st Oct, 2017
Date of DAT Prelims:  7th Jan, 2018
Date of DAT Mains: 15th May, 2018
