Anna University invites applications for B.Tech / B.Arch admissions from Other State candidates

Anna University has started applications for Admission to B.E. / B.Arch Degree Programs for the seats reserved for Other State candidates in University Departments of Anna University for the academic year 2017-18.  Admissions are purely on the basis of Merit for B.E. / B.Tech programs and on the basis of Merit + NATA score for B.Arch admissions.

Anna University has been placed #8th by NIRF-2017 rankings in Engineering institutes.

Total seats available:
B.E. / B.Tech: 50 seats

Northern region: GEN: 9 seats, SC/ST: 2 seats
(Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, J & K, Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, UP, Chandigarh)
Eastern region: GEN: 9 seats, SC/ST: 2 seats
(Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Manipur, Meghalaya, Tripura, Nagaland, Mizoram, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Chattisgarh, Lakshwadweep, Orissa)
Westeren region: GEN: 9 seats, SC/ST: 2 seats 
(Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Goa, Daman & Diu, Madhya Pradesh)
Southern region: GEN: 12 seats, SC/ST: 4 seats
(Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Karnataka, Puducherry)
Kashmri Migrant: 1 seat

B.Arch: 2 seats

Eligibility:
- Applicant should be a citizen of India but not a native of Tamil Nadu. A Certificate of Permanent Residence in the format given in Certificate I should be uploaded.
For B.Tech:
- GEN category: Minimum average marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry: 50%
- SC/ST candidates: Minimum average marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry: 40%
Note: Improvement marks obtained by the candidates will not be considered

For B.Arch:
- Candidates who have passed 10+2 or its equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects
- NATA 2017 : The candidates should have obtained marks greater than or equal to the qualifying marks (70 out of 200) prescribed in NATA 2017 score card. 
- NATA 2016 : Thecandidates should have obtained valid score (80 out of 200) in NATA 2016.
- The candidates who appeared in NATA 2016 and NATA 2017 may apply for admission on the basis of valid NATA score obtained by the candidates either in NATA 2016 or NATA 2017
- GEN category: Minimum average marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry: 50%
- SC/ST candidates: Minimum average marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry: 45%

B.Tech Selection criteria:
- Ranking is based on the academic marks obtained in the prescribed subjects in the qualifying examination reduced to 200 (Mathematics -- 100, Physics + Chemistry -- 100)
- An overall merit list will be prepared based on the total marks of 200

B.Arch Selection criteria:
- Ranking is based on the academic marks obtained in the prescribed subjects in the qualifying examination reduced to 200 (Mathematics -- 100, Physics + Chemistry -- 100) and NATA marks -- 200
- An overall merit list will be prepared based on the total marks of 400

Application procedure:
- Apply through online web portal www.annauniv.edu/otherstate2017
- Be ready with details such as Marks, Percentage of Marks, Certificates, Year of Passing, Board / Institute Scanned image of their photograph with prescribed file size / resolution etc. Scanned copy of mark sheet / Transfer / Migration Certificate / Permanent Residence Certificate and Community Certificate for SC/ST and other relevant certificates if any before applying online.
- Candidate need to pay following registration fee via online mode : 
a) B.E. / B.Tech only: Rs. 500/-
b) B.Arch only: Rs. 500/-
c) B.E. / B.Tech & B.Arch: Rs. 1000/-
- Submit the online application. Short-listed candidates will be called for counselling. The date, time and venue for counselling will be published in Anna University website. 
- Eligible candidates who have applied may appear for counselling according to their cut-off mark, two hours before the counselling sessionon the dates given in the downloaded counselling call letter along with their original certificates for verification.
- Due to unforeseen and unavoidable reasons, if a candidate is unable to attend the counselling on the specified date and time, he/she can authorise (by a letter) his/her parent on his/her behalf and the parent’s decision will be binding on the candidate
- Short-listed candidates who appear for the counselling will need to pay Rs. 5000/- towards counseling fee. Candidates will be called for counselling in the order of their merit. ased on the merit and communal reservation, the branch / campus chosen by the candidate will be allotted. Candidates have to opt for campus and branches that are available at the time of counselling.
- If a candidate has deposited all the certificates in an Institution where he/she has already been admitted, a bonafide letter from the Head of the Institution should be produced to that effect. In such cases only, copies of certificates attested only by the Head of the Institution shall be accepted for verification. However, the provisional allotment order will be withheld and it will be released only on production of all the original certificates.
