Rourkela HiTech Medical College Admission Under Lens

2015-10-13 The state government has directed Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) to probe the alleged illegal admission conducted by HiTech Medical College and Hospital, Rourkela in MBBS and BDS streams this year.

According to reports, due to lack of adequate infrastructure as per the guidelines, the Medical Council of India had rejected admission into MBBS and BDS courses in the college this year.

HiTech Hospital authorities have changed the council order at Orissa High Court. The court in its order asked the council to allow the medical college to hold admission of students into MBBS and BDS courses as per the OJEE counseling process and by informing students that the final outcome of the admission would be subject to the further orders from court.

It is reported that the authorities of the medical college allegedly violated the order of court by not consulting with OJEE over the admission process into the courses. They are also alleged of conducting a separate entrance test for the admission.
