COMEDK-UGET and Uni-GAUGE-E 2020 Announced

COMEDK (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka), in association with ERA Foundation, shall conduct the 2020 entrance exam for admission in BE / BTech / BArch courses on 10 May 2020.

Till about a couple of years ago, COMEDK and Uni-GAUGE-E used to be two separate entrance exams, which have now been merged. However, both have different institutes accepting the ranks for admission (a total of approx 150 institutes). While applying, students have the option of being considered for only one or both the sets of member institutions.

Application fee : Rs1,500 (for COMEDK-UGET), Rs.1,600 (for Uni-GAUGE-E) and Rs2,400 (if opting for both COMEDK and Uni-GAUGE-E).

Date of exam :10 May 2020

(1) Eligibility is open to candidates from all over the country.

For COMEDK

(a) For UG Engineering courses

a) The candidates should have passed second PUC or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination with English as one of the languages and obtained a minimum of 45% Marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer (40% in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka State) and should have passed these subjects individually.

b) An attempt in the COMEDK Entrance Test seeking admission to Engineering courses is considered adequate for figuring in the rank list.

c) Diploma candidates are not eligible to take the Entrance Test as there are no lateral entry admissions.

(b) For UG Architecture courses

i) The candidates should have passed an examination at the end of the 10+2 scheme of examination with atleast 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (45% for SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka) and also atleast 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination (45% for SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka) or passed 10+3 Diploma examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with atleast 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka) and should have passed these subjects individually.

ii) All the candidates (including SC, ST and OBC candidates of Karnataka) seeking admission to B.Arch shall pass the NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) conducted by the Council of Architecture or JEE Paper - 2. Qualification in NATA is subject to the candidate getting at least cut-off marks in two individual components and also getting at least the qualifying marks in aggregate.

iii) There shall be no Entrance Test for candidates seeking admission to B. Arch Course.

iv) Candidates seeking B. Arch course shall submit separate application for participation in the Counseling.

For Uni-GAUGE-E

a) Candidates should have passed second Pre-University Course (PUC) or 10+2 Or Higher Secondary or equivalent examination.

b) Diploma students looking for admission to Engineering  streams are eligible.

c) Examination passed should be recognized by State / Central Government.

d) Candidates appearing for the above examinations in the current academic year are also eligible to apply
