NTA Starts JEE Mains 2020 Registrations, Science NOT MANDATORY for B.Planning
2019-09-03National Testing Agency has started online registratipns for Joint Entrance Exam Mains 2020. Interestingly, some changes have been introduced in not only the examination pattern but also the eligibility criteria.
JEE (Mains) is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded Technical Institutions, Institutions funded by several participating State Governments, and several other Institutions. JEE (Mains) is also an eligibility test for the JEE (Advanced), which the candidate has to take if he/she is aspiring for admission to the undergraduate programmes offered by the IITs.
It is conducted twice every year and a candidate can appear in either or both. Best of the two scores shall be used for preparation of merit list for admissions.
The first attempt of JEE (Main) will be held in January whereas the second attempt will be held in April. The test will be held on different shifts/dates in both the attempts.
Eligibility change : Non Science students, who have studies Mathematics at +2level, are now eligible for admission in Bachelor of Planning course. They have to appear in the JEE-Mains (the test for these candidates does not cover any Science subjects).
Change in JEE pattern : The number of questions in PCM have been reduced. And 20 questions will be of MCQ type while 5 will need a numerical value to be filled (25 questions each in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics).
The test pattern, depending upon corse applied for, shall be as below :
A) For B.Tech/BE
Total 75 questions (25 each in Physics, Chemistry, Maths)
Each subject will have 20 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and 5 Questions for which numerical value has to be filled
Each question carries 4 marks
This is conducted online (Computer Based Test)
B) For B.Arch
25 questions in Maths, 50 in Aptitude Test, 2 in Drawing
Mathematics (Part I) : 20 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and 5 Questions for which numerical value has to be filled. Each question carries 4 marks.
Aptitude Test (Part II) : Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). Each question carries 4 marks.
Drawing Test (Part III) : Questions to test drawing aptitude. Each question carries 50 marks.
The Drawing Test is conducted in offline (pen and paper based) mode
C) For B.Planning
25 questions in Maths, 50 in Aptitude Test, 25 in Planning Based MCQs. Each question carries 4 marks.
Mathematic (Part I) : 20 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and 5 Questions for which numerical value has to be filled.
Aptitude Test (Part II) : Objective Type - Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
Planning Based Questions (Part III) : Objective Type - Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
