CMC Vellore 2019 Admissions : MBBS, BSc (Nursing)
2019-02-18Christian Medical College, Vellore, has started its application process for 2019 admissions in MBBS and BSc (Nursing). Unlike MBBS, BSc (Nursing) is open for unmarried female candidates only.

Date of selection test : Step 1 on 10 May and Step 2 from 23 to 25 Jul 2019
BSc (Nursing) selections : Admission in BSc (Nursing) shall be based on a 2 step testing process. The assessment process shall consist of 120 questions in General Ability including Speed and Accuracy and also a few questions on issues of current topical interest. There will be two sections. Section 1 with 60 questions to be answered in 50 minutes and Section 2 with 60 questions to be answered in 20 minutes.
Step 2 (special tests & interviews) shall be conducted at Vellore only. In Step 2, Christian students who have applied under the Minority Network category will be given a test on Bible Knowledge (multiple choice questions).
MBBS selections : MBBS admission shall be based on NEET. However, candidates need to apply as per the above schedule. Later on, the portal shall be reopened for MBBS applicants to submit their NEET and Tamil Nadu Management quota rank details. Dates for this shall be announced at a later stage.
About CMC Vellore : CMC Vellore began in 1918, when Dr Scudder started training women for the Licentiate Diploma (LMP). In 1942, the medical school was raised to the status of a college and 25 students were admitted to the MBBS course.
Christian Medical College is an unaided, non capitation, Christian minority, educational institution admitting students on merit on an all India basis. The Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore was established and is maintained by the Christian Medical College Vellore Association, a registered society, formed by over 50 different Indian Christian churches and Christian organisations which run over 225 hospitals, health centres and dispensaries throughout the length and breadth of this country, many of which are situated in remote rural area.
The college is affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai.
