2018-06-26Indian Institute Of Petroleum And Energy (IIPE), Vishakhapatnam invites applications from the Indian citizens for admission into 4 year B.Tech programmes in the following disciplines for the academic session 2018-19.
a) Petroleum Engineering (Number of seats = 50)
b) Chemical Engineering (Number of seats = 50)
About IIPE : Indian Institute Of Petroleum And Energy (IIPE) is the first Petroleum institute of National importance planned to be started in Vizag. IIPE is a Government of India recognised university and is strongly backed by many oil majors viz. HPCL, IOCL, ONGC, GAIL, OIL and the Andhra Pradesh government.
Admission process
Admission will be based on JEE (Advanced) - 2018 Rank List.
Performance in Class XII (or Equivalent) Board Examinations: The candidate should satisfy at least one of the following two criteria for admission to IITs.
1. Must have secured at least 75% aggregate marks in the Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination. The aggregate marks of SC, ST and PWD candidates should be at least 65%
2. Must be within the category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective class XII (or equivalent) board examination. The percentile calculation will be done for the required subjects in a single academic year only. The marks scored in the following five subjects will be considered for calculating the aggregate marks and the cut-off marks for fulfilling the top 20 percentile criterion (i) Physics, (ii) Chemistry, (iii) Mathematics, (iv) A language (if the candidate has taken more than one language, then the language with the higher marks will be considered), (v) Any subject other than the above four (the subject with the highest marks will be considered). For calculation of the total marks for five subjects, if the marks awarded in a subject is NOT out of 100, then the marks will be scaled (up or down) to 100 so that the total aggregate marks is out of 500.
However, the onus lies on the candidate to prove that he / she is within the top 20 percentile at the time of physical Registration / verification for admission by way of proper authenticated credential, failing which his/her registration / admission stands cancelled and the 25 % of the advance tuition fee paid by him / her shall be forfeited.
Application process
Students should have taken JEE (Advanced) - 2018 and must separately apply for IIPE counseling through Online Application Portal.
a) Step 1 : Register with Your Email Id and Login. FILL in the appropriate data. Please note that you have to upload your testimonials wherever it is required to validate your information along with your digital photograph and signature.
b) Step 2 : Payment of application fee has to be made through online payment gateway only.
c) Step 3 : After final submission of your online application, you will be able to generate your online application print with your specific details/data. This application print may be retained with you for future requirement.
Please note that you NEED NOT SEND the application by post. Your application will be considered on the basis of your final submission through online. You can check submission, shortlisting, selection and other application related status from Application Status menu. You should remember your login id and password for the same.
