Savitribai Phule Pune University (formerly University of Poona) also just known as Pune University, is one of the premier Universities in India. It is popularly known as the 'Oxford of the East'. Established in 1949, this State University is home to 46 academic departments, has about 307 recognized research institutes and 612 affiliated colleges. The Biotechnology program is offered by the Department of Biotechnology (with jointly merged Institute of Bioinformatics and Biotechnology (IBB). IBB was established in 2002 and is funded by the UGC.
Intake : 30 seats
Supernumerary quota shall be as per provision of Ordinance 181-A amended, University Order (Circular number PGS/1821 dated 14 June 2019).
Reservation : As per norms laid down by Govt of Maharashtra from time to time including reservation for Persons with Disability / Orphan and Defence Personnel’s Child / Ex-Serviceman Child.
30% seats are reserved for female candidates
