Degree and Certification : The Systematic Training and Education Programme -STEP includes comprehensive on-the-job training at select Oberoi and Trident Hotels along with a correspondence Bachelor's Degree in Tourism Studies from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
About STEP (Systematic Training and Education Programme) : The Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development invests time, effort and money in candidates selected for the three year STEP Programme.
STEP is a 3 year programme that offers practical training at select Oberoi & Trident Hotels. In addition to this practical training in a hotel, students are enrolled for a Bachelor Degree in Tourism Studies (BTS) from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). The investment includes all expenses on IGNOU course fee and books, accommodation, duty meals, transportation, medical insurance and uniforms. Selected candidates are paid a monthly allowance during the training period. The programme includes a dedicated study day once a week, three weeks study leave to take IGNOU exams and three weeks annual leave.
A significant benefit of joining STEP is the possibility of a future career with The Oberoi Group. You may be offered a job as an Operations Assistant at any of the Group’s hotels.

Selection process
Candidates are divided into groups and are taken through a round of activities and questionnaires followed by interview with a panel.
Please note that date of conduct of selection process varies from city to city.
General guidelines
Come to the venue of the selection process on the date you have chosen.
On the day of the interview, the candidate must bring the following documents with him/her the self attested copies of the following:
- One print-out of their application form along with one passport-size photograph.
- One copy of their class X certificate. If the candidate's certificate does not mention their date of birth, one copy of their birth certificate will be required.
- One copy of their class XII certificate.
The candidate should be deemed medically fit by our company doctor.
