National Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (NIRD & PR) is an autonomous organisation under the Union Ministry of Rural Development. It is a premier national centre of excellence in rural development and acts as a *think - tank* for the Ministry of Rural Development, NIRD while acting as a repository of knowledge on rural development would assist the Ministry in policy formulation and choice of options in rural development to usher in the changes. The institute is located in Hyderabad.
It conducts entrance test for admissions to 12-month (3 trimesters) course of Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development Management (PGDRDM).
Course duration: January 2017 to December 2017.
Intake: 50 seats
Selection Process:
Selection of candidates will be made through a process of All-India Entrance Test which will test the verbal, quantitative and analytical competencies of the students including English Language. Group Discussion and Personal Interviews will be conducted for the short-listed candidates.
Fee:
Tuition Fee: Rs. 1,65,000 lacs (Gen & OBC category) & Rs. 1,25,000 (SC/ST/PWD category)
Hostel, boarding, other deposits Fee: Rs. 100,000/- per year
Scholarships:
1. Ten students will be eligible for NIRD PR Scholarship based on their performance.
2. The North Eastern Council, Shillong, will be approached for giving fellowships to economically backward students of North Eastern states.
Upon selection, a non - refundable Seat Registration Fee of Rs.20,000 should be paid by the Indian students. This amount will be adjusted against the First Trimester Fee.
Reservation: Reservations for the students of the SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer) and Persons with Disability (PWD) will be made as per Government of India's policies.
How to apply:
Option 1: Application form to be filled through online from the website (www.nird.org.in/pgdrdm).
Option 2: The applications sent by post will also be accepted through the offline (hard copy) form.
The filled in online (Hard copy) / downloaded application form should be submitted along with the Application Fee of Rs.200 (Rs.100/- for SC/ST and PWD candidates) through an Account Payee Demand Draft drawn in favour of NIRD-PGDRDM, payable at Hyderabad. The filled in application form should be sent to the "Coordinator (Admissions), Centre for Post Graduate Studies, National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad-500030, India", so as to reach on or before 26.10.2016.
