Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE), Gwalior was established by the Ministry of Education & Culture, Government of India in 1957. The Institute was given the status of National importance. In 1995 it was conferred the status of Deemed University in 1995.
The North East Regional Centre (NERC) of LNIPE is located in Guwahati.
The Institute runs 8-Semester (4-Year) Bachelor of Physical Education (Integrated) programme. It is mandatory for all the students pursuing full-time B.P.Ed., M.P.Ed., & Diploma Courses to reside in the hostels and take their meals in the mess.

Selection criteria : The marks obtained by the candidate in Final admission test will be taken for preparation of merit list as per the following weightage ( Out of Total 100 marks):
a. 40% for marks obtained in written test
b. 60% for Sports Achievement / Participation Certificates
Certificate will be considered in following games/sports : Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Best Physique, Boxing, Canoeing, Cricket, Cycling, Diving, Football, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Kabaddi, Kayaking, Kho-Kho, Lawn Tennis, Power Lifting, Squash Rackets, Softball, Swimming, Water Polo, Table Tennis, Track & Field, Volleyball, Weight-Lifting, Wrestling, Yoga and other games & sports which are approved and funded by MYAS/IOA.
Direct Admission : Direct admission will be provided to the candidates who have represented India in designated International Championship such as Junior and Senior World Championships, Junior and Senior World Cups, Junior and Senior Asian Championships, Junior and Senior Asian Cups, Common Wealth Games, Asian Games, Afro-Asian Games, SAF Games, World School Games/World Schools Championship in the following games and sports: Archery, Badminton, Basketball, Best Physique, Boxing, Canoeing, Cricket, Cycling, Diving, Football, Gymnastics, Handball, Hockey, Judo, Kabaddi, Kayaking, Kho-Kho, Lawn Tennis, Power Lifting, Squash Rackets, Softball, Swimming, Water Polo, Table Tennis, Track & Field, Volleyball, Weight-Lifting, Wrestling, Yoga and other games & sports which are approved and funded by MYAS/IOA.
Representation shall be in such games/sports which are approved and funded by MYAS/IOA. Such participation must be after 01st July, 2017. All such candidates who will fulfill above mentioned criteria are entitled or will be granted direct admission.
Fees : Rs.76,800/- (total for Sem I and II) including tuition, hostel and mess fee
