bout the university : Jamia Millia Islamia, established in 1920, is now a Central University (since 1988) with Minority Institution status since 2011. JMI has become an ensemble of a multi-layered educational system which covers all aspects of schooling, under-graduate, post-graduate, Ph.D. and post-doctoral education. Selection criteria : Performance in the entrance exam and the subsequent group discussion
Muslim minority reservation : 30% of total seats are for Muslim applicants, 10% of total seats are for Women applicants who are Muslims, 10% of total seats are for OBCs and STs who are Muslims.
The reservation for Muslim OBC candidates will only be applicable to the candidates belonging to “Non-Creamy Layer”. All such applicants are required to submit an OBC (Central Government List) certificate from the competent authority, format of which is available on http://ncbc.nic.in/backwardclasses/index.html
Other reservations : 5% for physically challenged persons, 5% for internal students of Jamia who have passed qualifying examination from Jamia schools as regular students, 5% (not exceeding 2 seats per programme) for Kashmiri migrants.
Reservation and relaxations under special provisions also available for candidates from Jammu and Kashmir, foreign candidates, outstanding players, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers.
Fee : Total fee payable per year is Rs.35,310 For Hotel Management, Rs.30,185 For Tourism & Travel Management and Rs.97,100 for B.Voc
Hostel : There is no guarantee of hostel accommodation as University has limited residential facility for students.
Answer key upload and challenging : The answer key of Entrance test question paper (Of Multiple Choice Questions Only) will be uploaded on admission result page within 3 working days after the entrance test is over. The applicant has to submit their grievance/challenge online for change in key, within 48 hours after the key upload. The candidate has to pay fees of Rs.500/- per programme to challenge the uploaded key. No grievance will be entertained without fee payment.
Note : These are Self Financed programmes and will be offered only if at least 50% admissions of total number of seats will be done, otherwise the programme will be not be offered in this academic session.
