Indian Institute of Crafts and Design, Jaipur, was set up as an autonomous institute by the Government of Rajasthan in the year 1995 to act as a catalyst of change in the craft sector. Since October 2007, the institute is a state Government undertaking under the aegis of the Department of Industry, Govt. of Rajasthan running on Public Private Partnership (PPP) with Ambuja Educational Institute (AEI).
The institute offers Bachelors, Masters programmes with various specializations in Crafts & Design to address the needs of the crafts sector and associated industry. The institute also offers a craft incubation program for 4 months and summer courses in Crafts & Design
The degrees are awarded by Vishwakarma Skills University (formerly Rajasthan ILD Skills University, Jaipur).
Specialization allocation: The Candidate has to opt for the specialization while filling up the personal and other details in the Online Registration form, prior to Entrance Test.
The selection of the students for the specialisation will be on the basis of his/her performance in the foundation semesters and the aptitude shown. The decision will be taken by a committee duly constituted by IICD.
Intake: 180 seats
Reservation:
27% for OBC, 15% for ST and 7.5% for SC and 3% for PH candidates.
Selection process has 2 stages - Entrance Test (which has 2 parts) and a Personal Interview. Please see TEST PATTERN tab for detailed information.

Fees structure
a) Indian and SAARC nationals: Total fee for first semester at the time of admission incl tuition, hostel & mess: Rs. 2,41,000/-
There are two semesters in one academic year.
b) Foreign Nationals / NRI Candidates: Total fee for first semester at the time of admission incl tuition, hostel & mess: Rs. 4,75,300/-
Financial Assistance
a) Ambuja Educational Institute (AEI) offers Financial Assistance towards semester tuition fee for students from disadvantaged backgrounds. For details contact DR (Academics). The decision of the Financial Assistance Committee in award of financial assistance shall be final. The financial assistance will be granted on a yearly basis. Application forms for financial aid along with guidelines are available with DR (Academics).
b) Lady Bamford Foundation (LBF) - Nila House offers financial assistance towards 100% semester fees including academic expenses to 8 UG students who are artisan wards. For details contact DR (Academics).
c) Chhattisgarh Hastshilp Vikas Board offers sponsorship towards full IICD fees including hostel and mess with academic expenses. For details contact DR (Academics).
The students must take initiatives to search & apply for financial assistance for various schemes of the State and Central Government.
