About the college : Chandigarh, the ‘City Beautiful’, has one of the best educational facilities in the country. Besides the Panjab University and the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research, it has an Engineering College, College of Arts, College of Architecture, a number of Government and Private Degree Colleges and other prestigious and important research institutions. Government Medical College and Hospital was started in 1991. It now offers postgraduate courses in Anaesthesiology, Anatomy, Dermatology, ENT, Forensic Medicine, General Surgery, Microbiology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Pathology, Psychiatry, Pulmonary Medicine, Ophthalmology and Orthopaedics. Postgraduate courses in other remaining subjects will be started soon. It also offers undergraduate courses in many allied health sciences.
UT Chandigarh Pool Seats: 85% seats of the total sanctioned intake of an institution will be filled up from amongst the students who have passed their qualifying examination from schools/colleges recognized by the Chandigarh Administration and located in the Union Territory, Chandigarh, as regular students of the said school/college.
General Pool Seats: Remaining 15% seats will be filled from amongst students, who have passed their qualifying examination from institutions other than those located in the Union Territory, Chandigarh.
In both pools, 15% seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC).
Stipend: No stipend will be given to any student during the course of any stream except B.Sc.Nursing where stipend will be paid during internship only.
No hostel : No hostel facility will be provided to any student and they have to make their own arrangements for Boarding / lodging.
Annual fee : Rs.9,579/- for General category and Rs.9,129/- for SC category (Including Tuition Fee, Clinical Charges, Amalgamated Funds etc.)
