The entrance exam is common for dual degree in Biotechnology, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology was established on 20th October, 1995 by an Act of State Legislature. The preamble of the Act states that the university will facilitate and promote studies and research in emerging areas of higher education with focus on new frontiers of technology, pharmacy, environmental studies, non- conventional energy sources and management studies, and also to achieve excellence in these and connected fields.
The University is currently offering 51 regular graduate and post-graduate courses in different streams of M.Tech., M.Sc., M.Pharm., MBA, MCA, MPT, B.Tech., B.Pharm., BPT, etc. besides 16 professional courses in various disciplines through distance mode. The University also offers intensified research programmes leading to award of the degree of Doctorate of Philosophy and Post graduate courses in all Departments.
Setup in a 372 acre area, the University is situated at Hisar, a rapidly growing town situated at 167 Km. from Delhi on Delhi-Rohtak- Hisar- Sirsa- Fazilka National Highway (NH-10) and at a distance of 231 Km. from Chandigarh on NH-65.

No. of seats : 35 + 2 + 1 + 1 (No. of seats + supernumerary seat for Single Girl Child + supernumerary seat for north-eastern candidate + supernumerary seat for children (son / daughter) of permanent University Employees of GJUS&T, Hisar)
Haryana / All India category seats : 85% seats are reserved for bonafide residents of Haryana. 15% seats are for All India category.
Reservation for bonafide residents of Haryana
a) SC 20%, Backward Classes BCA 16%, Backward Classes BCB 11%, Physically Handicapped 3%
b) In the event of quota reserved for Physically handicapped remain unutilized due to non-availability for suitable category of handicapped candidates, it may be offered to the Ex-Serviceman and their wards (1%) and the dependents of Freedom Fighters (1%).
c) Further 3% horizontal reservation is also provided to Ex-servicemen / Freedom Fighters and their dependents by providing reservation within reservation of 1% of general category, 1% out of Scheduled Castes and 1% from Backward Classes category for admission to the various educational institutions of the Govt. and Govt. aided/ institutes located in Haryana. As far as block allocation in Block-A and Block-B of Backward Classes category is concerned, year-wise rotational system will be adopted. For example, if Block- A of Backward Classes are given seats in the academic year 2006, the next block i.e. Block of category of Backward Classes will be given seats in the next academic year i.e. 2007 and so on.
Seats for foreign students : 15% supernumerary seats of the total sanctioned intake in each course are available for foreign students. 1/3rd of 15%, i.e. 5%, of the total seats shall be reserved for the children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries.
Kashmiri migrants : One seat in each programme is reserved for Kashmiri Migrants & these seats are to be filled up on supernumerary basis on the inter-se-merit of Kashmiri Migrants on the basis of percentage of qualifying examination.
Method of selection & test subjects : The admission in all the Dual Degree Courses will be made through a Common Entrance Test to be conducted by the University. A candidate shall have the option to choose one set of subjects for common entrance test from the following :
(i) Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
(ii) Physics, Chemistry and Biology
Sports weightage : Special weightage upto 5 marks will be given to Sports persons who have won 1st or 2nd or 3rd position at the University or State Level Tournament organised by State Government in individual events or team games or have participated in the Inter-University or National Level Competition.
Fee : Rs.20,250 per semester
