Central Institute of Technology (CIT), Kokrajhar, a Deemed to be University, is a Centrally Funded

Technical Institute (CFTI) under Ministry of HRD, Government of India. IIT Guwahati is acting as the mentor of the Institute.

CITK is presently offering Diploma, B. Tech, B. Des, M. Tech, M. Des and Ph.D programs in various disciplines. The core departments are - Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Food Engineering and Technology, Civil Engineering and Multimedia Communication and Design.

Other departments include Basic Science (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry), Allied Engineering Departments (Electrical and Mechanical Engineering) and Humanities and Social Science which comprises of English, Economics and Sociology.

Mode of admission

(a) Candidates seeking admission to B.Tech through Direct Entry Scheme must qualify either Central Institute of Technology Bachelor of Technology Entrance Examination (CITBTEE) conducted by CIT Kokrajhar or JEE-Mains conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA).

(b) 60% of intake is allotted for CITBTEE and rest of the seats are allotted for JEE (Mains) qualified candidates.

Reservation

(1) 60% from BTAD (60% ST, 5% SC, 15% OBC and 20% General)

(2) 20% from North-East region excluding BTAD.

(3) 17% from All India excluding North-East Region.

(4) 03% for physically handicapped candidates.

Note

a) The reservation policy for serial No. 2, 3 and 4 will follow the reservation policy for SC, ST, OBC and General as laid down by the Government of India. ln case the seats as mentioned in 1and/or 2 are not filled up by respective category candidates, the seats will be open to all following the reservation policy for SC, ST, OBC and General as laid down by the Government of lndia.

b) For EWS : As per the AICTE guidelines (para 7.44), 10% of reservation for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) above the intake capacity shall be permissible for admission. It is not applicable for candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC candidates. EWS vacant seats shall also be considered for the Lateral Entry to Second Year Course(s) with the same reservation policy for admission.
