Footwear Design & Development Institute was established in 1986, under the aegis of Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Govt. of India. It is an Institution of National Importance under FDDI Act 2017. FDDI has Pan India Presence with 12 state-of art campuses spread across the country (Ankleshwar, Noida, Rohtak,  Kolkata, Fursatganj, Chennai, Jodhpur, Chhindwara, Patna, Chandigarh, Guna, Hyderabad).

FDDI is among the top three Universities / Institutions in the World taking up higher education in the core domain and aiding in bridging the skill gap in the areas of Footwear, Leather Accessory & lifestyle products.

FDDI is setting up “Centre of Excellence” in 7 of its campuses in the areas of Design, Leather Finishing, Innovation, Product Retailing and Specialized Footwear. It has world class laboratories and testing centers at Noida and Chennai with state of art testing equipments mostly from SATRA, UK and PFI Germany.

Campus wise intake

a) Footwear Design & Production (Total 760) : 80 seats in Hyderabad and Noida, 60 seats in each of the remaining 10 campuses

b) Leather, Lifestyle & Product Design (Total 180) : 60 seats each at Noida, Kolkata and Hyderabad

c) Fashion Design (Total 700) : 80 seats each at Noida & Hyderabad, 60 seats each at rest of the campuses except Guna campus (not offered at Guna campus)

d) BBA (Retail & Fashion Merchandise) (Total 240) : 60 seats each at Noida, Patna, Chandigarh and Hyderabad

Note : FDDI reserves the right to change the campus and / or programme of a student if the enrolment for that speci­fic program at the campus is less than 20 students. Subsequently student will be required to pay fee and other charges as applicable for that speci­fic campus and / or programme.

Acceptance of National Level Entrance exam score: All eligible candidates with any valid National level entrance examination score card are allowed for participating in admission process for the academic session 2023-24. Details provided in “Eligibility”.

Reservation

15% seats for Scheduled Caste (SC), 7.5% seats for Scheduled Tribe (ST) and 27% seats for OBC (Non Creamy) candidates respectively in each programme for regular seats.

3% seats are reserved for differently abled candidates for regular seats as per the Persons with Disability Act 1995.

10% seats are reserved for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) as per MHRD office memorandum number 12-4/2019-UI dt. 17/01/2019. (As per MHRD office memorandum number 12-4/2019-UI dt. 17/01/2019 regarding Reservation for Economically Weaker Section (EWS), candidates who are not covered under the scheme of reservation for SCs, STs and OBCs and whose family has gross annual income below Rs. 8 lakh (Rupees eight lakh only) are to be identified as EWSs for benefit of seat reservation in FDDI Admissions 2023.)

NRI / Foreign Nationals / Industry Sponsored Seats : Over and above the regular seats, 10% seats are reserved in each programme for NRI / Industry-Sponsored / International candidates who meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. The NRI / Industry Sponsored Candidate shall be interviewed and the selection shall be done on merit basis.

a) Noida, Hyderabad, Chennai, Chandigarh, Kolkata campus

Sem 1: Rs.1,40,600/-

Sem 2,4,6,8: Rs.1,11,300/-

Sem 3: Rs.1,18,200/-

Sem 5: Rs.1,18,900/-

Sem 7: Rs.1,19,700/-

Hostel fee (excluding mess): Rs.30,000/- per semester at Noida, Rs.24,000/- per semester at other 4 of the above campuses.

b) Other campuses

Sem 1: Rs.1,07,000/-

Sem 2,4,6,8: Rs.77,700/-

Sem 3: Rs.84,600/-

Sem 5: Rs.85,3000/-

Sem 7: Rs.86,100/-

Hostel fee (excluding mess): Rs.18,000/- per semester

Note : NRI/ Industry sponsored candidates are required to pay twice the normal Tuition fee in case of Noida, Hyderabad, Chennai, Chandigarh and Kolkata campus and 50% extra fee for other campuses in addition to the normal fee. Other fee components remain the same.
