About AIIMS : An Act of Parliament in 1956 established the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS, New Delhi), as an autonomous Institution of National Importance and defined its objectives and functions. By virtue of this Act, the Institute grants its own medical degrees and other academic distinctions.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana new All India Institutes of Medical Sciences have been established similar to AIIMS, New Delhi. Starting from 2013, B.Sc. (Hons) Nursing course was introduced in six new AIIMS at Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur and Rishikesh. AIIMS Deoghar and Nagpur started from 2021 session.

(i) Total 671 seats as per breakup below :
96 in Delhi
100 in Rishikesh
75 each in Bhopal / Bhubaneswar / Jodhpur / Patna / Raipur
60 in Deoghar
40 in Nagpur
(ii) For Indian nationals, 5% reservation for Person with Benchmark disability will be provided on horizontal basis. Eligibility criteria for candidates under PWBD category will be as per guidelines issued by respective competent authorities as amended from time to time will be applicable in this regard. EWS reservation is 10%.
Stipend : Stipend of Rs.500/- per month shall be paid to all students
Counselling : Number of candidates called for counselling will be 4 times the number of seats advertised for various categories. The order of counselling will be General/OBC/ST/SC.
