The Army Institute of Fashion & Design, Bangalore was established by the AWES in 2004. The primary focus of the Institute is to make available excellent technical and professional education in the field of Fashion Designing and Apparel Management. The institute is affiliated to Bangalore North University.
The Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) was established in 1983, to meet the educational needs of the wards and wives of Army Personnel, both retired as well as in active service. AWES has now emerged as one of the leading group of institutions providing excellent education in such diverse fields as Fashion Design, Management, Law, Education, Engineering, Medical Science, Dental Science, Nursing, and Hotel Management.
Intake: 60 seats in each course
Army seats: 54
Civil seats: 06 (10% of seats are offered for Karnataka Civilians)
Army seats implies wards of service/retired army personnel, adopted children / children of remarried widows, wards of ex Medical Core officers / Army Dental Core officers currently serving with IAF or Indian Navy, children of APS/MNS/TA personnel who have put in 10 years of service in the Army.
Weightage to Gallantry Award Winners. The wards of Gallantry Award Winners will be given weightage in admissions as under. Such candidates are required to submit the necessary proof to that effect for being considered for the weightage as per note 2 given below :-
