About TISS : The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 and was declared as Deemed to be a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act (UGC) in 1964. Over the years, the Institute has made consistent contributions to civil society and the development sector through its education, research, field action and extension. Today, the TISS has earned recognition as an institution of repute from different Ministries of the Government of India; various State Governments; international agencies such as the United Nations; and the non-government sector, both national and international.

Location : Integrated BA-MA Programme is offered at Tuljapur (Maharashtra) - 30 seats, Hyderabad - 60 seats and Guwahati - 60 seats. The BA (H) programme is offered at Tuljpur Campus - 30 seats

Eligibility

Students should have passed 12th Class or Intermediate in any subject stream from a Recognised Board. 

Candidate should be less than 23 years of age at the time of appearing for the Bachelors Admission Test

Selection Process : Admissions is a two stage proces
a) Stage 1: Entrance Test containing Part A & Part B  (See Test Pattern Section for details)
b) Stage 2:  Shortlisted candidates in the merit list for all categories will be called for a Personal Interview (PI) at Tuljapur campus. The Personal Interview carries 50 marks. This is to test the motivation and orientation of candidates appearing for this programme. 

Test pattern

(a) Stage 1: applicable for BA & BASW programs.  
Part A - (Online test) will be a 60 minute test with multiple choice questions on current affairs, social awareness and logical and analytical reasoning, carrying 60 marks.
Part B - (Offline test)  will be a written test with a set of descriptive questions in English. Candidate is expected to write two short answers in 30 minutes carrying 40 marks. It is compulsory for the candidates to attempt both the parts and make sure that they qualify in both the modes.
(b) Stage 2: applicable only for BA program
Shortlisted candidates in the merit list for all categories will be called for a Personal Interview (PI). The Personal Interview carries 50 marks. This is to test the motivation and orientation of candidates appearing for this programme. Candidates who score well in PI will be ranked on the BAT score and the PI score category wise and then selected for the programme.

Fees
Tuition & other Fee: Rs. 41,500/- p.a.
Hostel & dining: Rs. 62,000/- p.a.

Placements :The average package for 2015-17 PG batch  was Rs.18.2 Lacs.
