Becoming a Commercial Pilot : CPL course offered by IGRUA

IGRUA (Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi) Raebareli is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Govt of India. It is the pioneer flying training institution in the country. IGRUA offers  Ab­initio  to  CPL  Course  for  issue  of  CPL  with  Multi engine endorsement  and  Instrument Rating (IR) on Multiengine aircraft.

 Course offered : CPL (Commercial Pilot License) training (18 months duration). Candidates can also opt for B.Sc.  (Aviation)  Degree  from  Chatrapati  Sahu  Ji  Maharaj  University Kapur, simultaneously with CPL course. Duration of this course will be 3 years. This BSc course is available exclusively for CPL trainees at IGRUA.

No. of seats : 150 (75 General, 23 SC, 11 ST, 41 OBC)

Selection process : Online Written Test, Viva/Interview and Pilot Aptitude

Eligibility

a) For General candidates : Passed English at 10+2 level with minimum 55% Aggregate Marks in Maths and Physics

b) For SC/ST/OBC candidates : Passed English at 10+2 level with minimum 50% Aggregate Marks in Maths and Physics

c) Age limit : 17 years at the time of joining

Expenses

a) Training fee : Rs. 38 Lacs  payable  in  four  quarterly  instalments.  The  case  for  levy  of  service  tax  is subjudice and if confirmed by Court,  the  candidate  will  have  to  pay  subsequently  the  same at applicable rates. Additional  expenditure  for  about   Rs. 1.50   Lac  towards  cost  of   Uniform, Study Material, Navigation Computer, Head Phones etc

b) Boarding & Lodging : Separate  Hostels  for  Boys  and  Girls.  Mess and  hostel  accommodation  within  the  campus (on twin sharing basis), is  provided.  (Charges  approximately  Rs. 10,000/­  per  month).

Applications process spreads over March & April

Entrance exam is conducted in the month of May
