CII to start varsity with focus on humanities
2016-04-11 The CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) plans to foray into education and has drawn up plans to set up a university, its new president has said. We have a plan to start a CII university in the course of the year in Andhra Pradesh. Instead of each company doing its own thing in a small way, can we get together and do much more world class, Naushad Forbes said. Asked about the emphasis on humanities, he said : It is missing in this country. We don't have enough world class humanities and social science institutions. We have some good ones but we don't have enough. We have a lot of focus on technical institutes and management courses. I think we will make a much bigger contribution by focusing on humanities.(ToI)
