Indian Navy Now Open For Girls Under 10+2 BTech Entry Scheme

In a very welcome progressive move, Indian Navy has decided to open its doors for women candidates for Permanent Commission through the 10+2 BTech Cadet Entry scheme. Till now, it has been open for only unmarried male candidates. This, naturally, opens a vast set of promising career opportunity for women. Indian Navy 10+2 BTech Entry For Girls

A public notice about this has been released in newspapers on 5 Mar 2023.

When does this start: Women candidates will be eligible under this scheme starting from Jan 2024 batch.

Eligibility: Students who pass their class 12 latest by 2023 will be eligible.

JEE-Mains 2023 rank shall be the shortlisting criteria.

Selection process: Unless changed, the selection process involves the following two steps

Step 1: Shortlisting for SSB based on JEE-Mains All India Rank.

Step 2: SSB interviews for short listed candidates, generally held in Bangalore / Bhopal / Kolkata / Visakhapatnam.

Education and Training

(a) Selected Candidates are inducted as Cadets for the four years B. Tech Course in Applied Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electronics & Communication Engineering as per Naval requirements. On completion of the course, B.Tech Degree is awarded by the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Distribution of cadets amongst different branches is done be as per the extant policy.

(b) The entire cost of training, including books and reading material, is borne by the Indian Navy. The cadets are also provided with entitled clothing and messing.
