The Union Public Service Commission is accepting online applications for admission to the Army, Navy, and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 151st Course, and for the 113th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) which shall close on 10 Jan 2023NDA 2023 Application Last Date Soon

Each year UPSC conducts the National Defence Academy (NDA) & Naval Academy (NA) Examination twice for students who have completed their Class 12 or would complete their Class 12 in that year.

Changes in Eligibility:

1. Nationality: UPSC has removed eligibility for Tibetian refugees and also for nationals of Bhutan.  These candidates were eligible for applying in the previous exams.

2. Subjects:  For The Air Force, Naval wing & the Naval Academy program, earlier the subject eligibility in Grades 11 & 12 was Physics & Maths.  Now, Chemistry also has been added as a requirement.

For the Army wing, students from any stream are eligible.

NDA-Exam-I shall be held on the 16th April 2023 (Sunday) across multiple cities in pen & paper mode.NDA-I

Selection is through 2 stages:

Stage-1: Written Exam (NDA & NA) conducted by the UPSC

Stage-2: SSB Test & Interview

The selected candidates for the three services viz, Army, Navy and Air Force are given preliminary training both academic and physical for a period of 3 years at the National Defence Academy which is an Inter-Service Institution. The training during the first two and half years is common to the cadets of three wings. After completing 3 years at NDA, Army cadets go to the Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun, Naval candidates go to the Naval Academy, and Air Force cadets (flying & ground duty non-tech) to Air Force academy Hyderabad and Air Force cadets (ground duty tech) to Air Force Technical College Bengaluru.

The selected candidates for the Naval Academy under 10+2 scheme will undergo a 4-Year engineering program at the Naval Academy in Ezhimala (Kerala) for a period of 4-years.
