Applications for January 2023 IIT-Madras BS in Data Science Ongoing
2022-11-24IIT Madras has announced the schedule for the January 2023 intake for its unique online B.S Degree Program in Data Science & Applications.
IIT Madras, a premier institute, in 2021 introduced a unique online B.S Degree program aimed at producing graduates who will be employable in a sector that presently has a high demand.
The program is delivered online. Students from any stream, any qualification, and any age may apply.
The program has 3 admission intake cycles each year. 
For the January, intake cycle, IIT-Madras has announced the schedule for the program.
The program has multiple exit pathways ->
1. Foundational Certificate
2. Diploma
3. B.Sc. Degree (3-year equivalent)
4. B.S. Degree (4-year equivalent)
Students can complete the program in 3-6 years at their pace.
This is a great opportunity for students who wish to get into the high-demand IT sector with hot skills. And this also benefits students who don't have PCM (or MPC) stream in their Class 12.
Other aspects of the program eligibility:
- Candidates who have qualified the most recent JEE-Adv need not take the Qualifier test. They get direct entry into the Foundational Program
- Candidates who have moved from Grade 11 to Grade 12 (i.e. currently in Grade 12) can apply. If they qualify for the Qualifier Test, they can join the Foundational Program after their Class 12.
- Candidates, irrespective of when they had completed their Grade 12, can also apply (even if it were 2 decades ago!)
Admission Process:
1. Apply to the program
2. Complete a 4-week Qualifier Process (for Regular entry candidates)
3. If qualified, you will be allowed to take the Qualifier Exam
4. You get enrolled into the program if you qualify in the Qualifier Exam
Key Dates
- Last Date to Apply: 15th January 2023.
- Qualifier Phase Starts: 21sh January 2023
- Qualifier Exam: 26th February 2023
