IIHT Salem BTech 2022 Applications Started
2022-08-16Applications are invited by Indian Institute of Handloom Technology, Salem from eligible candidates from the Indian States/Union Territories (other than Tamil Nadu) for admission into First Year B.Tech. Handloom and Textile Technology Programme for the academic year 2022-23.
About the institute: The Textile Institute at Washermanpet, Chennai under the control of the Madras Govt was taken over with staff and equipment, shifted to Salem and established as Indian Institute Of Handloom Technology in the year 1960. It is now functioning under the administrative control of O/o the Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
The institute is offering Diploma in Handloom and Textile Technology since 1960. A new UG course B.Tech Handloom & Textile Technology was started from the academic year 2015-16 onwards. The course is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The course B.Tech Handloom & Textile Technology is a unique one which is offered only by this institution in India.
Qualifying exam & eligibility:
a) A pass in the HSC (Academic) or its equivalent.
b) A minimum of 45% average marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together. When the candidates produce grade certificate, they have to produce the actual marks also otherwise only the minimum marks applicable to the grades in the eligible subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry) will be taken into account.
c) For minimum eligibility, rounding of marks and normalized marks will also not be considered. Improvement marks will also not be considered.
d) Candidate should have a valid score of marks obtained in JEE-Mains 2022 examination
Admission criteria: The admission will be based on the merit of rank obtained by the candidates in JEE-Mains 2022. The community wise rank will be considered for allotment of seats. However if seats under any Community falls vacant, the same will be filled on Common Rank List (CRL) of JEE-Mains 2022.

Application submission: The duly filled application should be submitted to the Director, Indian Institute of Handloom Technology, Foulke’s Compound, Thillainagar, Salem - 636 001 by Speed / Registered Post or by hand.

b) Photocopy / downloaded copy of HSC / equivalent Mark Sheet
c) Photocopy of Transfer Certificate (Candidates appeared for HSC/equivalent examination must produce original TC at the time of counseling.
d) Photocopy of 10th Mark Sheet
e) Photocopy of Community Certificate/E-Certificate for SC, ST and OBC (if applicable)
f) Photocopy of HSC Hall Ticket
g) Photocopy of Nativity Certificate (If applicable)
h) Score sheet of JEE-Mains Exam
