Anna Univ 2022 B.Tech Admission Schedule Announced
2022-05-10Anna University is top-ranked University in India (Ranked #18 by NIRF-2021 under Engineering in India). It is the affiliating university for 4 University Department Campuses (known as Anna University Campuses), 13 Constituent Colleges, 3 Regional Campuses at Tirunelveli, Madurai, and Coimbatore, and 593 Affiliated Colleges (Government, Government Aided, and Self-Financing Colleges).
Anna University also has 4 reputed institutions that are run as University Department Campuses that offer Engineering & Architecture Programs: 
- College of Engineering, Guindy (CEG), (Established in 1794)
- Alagappa College of Technology (ACT) (Established in 1944)
- Madras Institute of Technology (MIT) (Established in 1949)
- School of Architecture & Planning (SAP) (Established in 1957)
For Tamil Nadu domicile candidates:
Admission to all the Govt. seats across Engg colleges Tamil Nadu and the 4 University Dept's. at Anna University is done using TNEA (Tamil Nadu Engg Admission) process of the Govt. of Tamil Nadu.
Admission to various UG & PG Programs offered at the University Departments of Anna University for Other State, NRI, Foreign Nationals, and Consortium of Industries is done using a separate process by the University.
Note that there are 50 seats for Other State candidates in B.Tech at the 4 campuses of Anna University. And 2 seats for B.Arch aspirants at the University for Other State candidates. This is further split as:
Candidates from Northern Region: 9 Gen & 2 SC/ST seats
Candidates from Eastern Region: 9 Gen & 2 SC/ST seats
Candidates from Western Region: 9 Gen & 2 SC/ST seats
Candidates from Couthern Region: 12 Gen & 4 SC/ST seats
Kashmiri Migrant: 1 seat
The University also conducts admissions for its 5-Year Integrated M.Sc. program. The programs offered are Int. MSc. in Computer Sc, Int. MSc. in Information Technology & Int. MSc. in Electroni Media. These Integrated courses are offered only at the Anna University, College of Engineering, Guindy Campus.
The admission process for Other State candidates at Anna University is purely based on the merit and a rank list is created based on
(i) Percentage of Marks in Mathematics
(ii) Percentage of Marks in Physics
(iii) Percentage of Marks in the Optional Subject
(iv) Percentage of Total marks in the qualifying Examination
(v) Percentage of Total marks in X Standard Examination
(vi) Date of Birth
(vii) Random number assigned
