2021-09-26Admit Cards shall be released by Biju Pattanaik Film and Television Institute of Odisha (BPFTIO), Cuttack on 27 Sep for its admission test B.CAT for its Bachelor Degree program. The application process ended on 24 Sep.
Course offered: 4 Year Bachelor degree in Cinematic Art and Technology in three prime disciplines such as
(i) Cinematography
(ii) Sound Recording and Sound Design and
(iii) Film Editing
Established in 1998, BPFTIO is going to offer 4 yrs. from the current Academic Session 2021-22.

Abut the institute: With the approval of Ministry of Human Resource & Development, Government of India and Government of Odisha, Film & Television Institute was established in the 1998. On May, 2001 the Institute is renamed as Biju Pattanaik Film & Television Institute of Orissa, Cuttack (BPFTIO) in the memory legendry leader Late Biju Patnaik. BPFTIO is one and only Institute under administrative Control of Directorate of Technical Education & Training, Odisha under the Department of Skill Development & Technical Education, Government of Odisha offering film and television course.

Date of admission test:
(a) 30 Sep 2021 (9AM to 10AM) for Cinematography and Sound Recording & Sound Design
(b) 30 Sep 2021 (2.30PM to 3.30PM) for Film Editing
Test Centres: Balasore, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack
Exam pattern: The Entrance Examination will be conducted in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode for all the three streams.
There will be two examinations in two shifts, each of one hour duration:
Shift 1:-Examination 1 for Cinematography and Sound Recording & Sound Design Streams.
The subjects will be Physics, Chemistry , Mathematics & English and the syllabus will be same as the syllabus of the +2 Science (CHSE, Odisha).
Shift 2:- Examination 2 for Film Editing Stream.
The subjects will be English, Every-Day-Science, General Knowledge and Reasoning

Merit preparation: Merit list drawn from Examination 1 will be used for admission into Cinematography / Sound Recording and Sound Design Streams.
Merit list drawn from Examination 2 will be used for admission into Film Editing Stream only.
Candidates with valid JEE MAIN (2021) rank are also eligible for admission into Cinematography / Sound Recording & Sound Design Streams, subject to fulfilling minimum eligibility criteria.
Eligibility
(a) For Cinematography and Sound Recording & Sound Design: Passed or appearing in 2021 Intermediate (10+2) in Science from CHSE, Odisha /CBSE/ ICSE / other State Board or any equivalent recognized by CHSE.
(b) For Film Editing: Passed or appearing in 2021 Intermediate (10+2) in Science/ Arts /Commerce from CHSE, Odisha / CBSE/ ICSE / other State Board or any equivalent recognized by CHSE
