2021-07-29Thapar Institute of Engineering & technology (TIET), a Deemed to be University, Patiala, is accepting applications for 2021 admissions in BE / BTech programs and the first round shall close on 2 Aug 2021.
Streams offered: Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Instrumentation, Electronics & Communication, Mechanical, Biotechnology, Chemical, Civil
Eligibility: In order to avoid delay in admissions for the session 2021-22, TIET has revised its criteria of admissions to BE/BTech 1st year as below:
a) Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination (passed 10+2 examination in 2019, 2020 or appearing in 2021) with at least 70% marks (65% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject* OR Minimum 70% (65% for SC/ST candidates) marks in a Diploma recognized by AICTE or a state board of technical education of at least 3-year duration.
b) Appeared in JEE (Main)-2021.
c) Possess a good moral character.
d) Be a citizen of India.
Admission criteria
(A) The admission shall be made on the basis of merit of aggregate of three subjects namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject (as listed below).

(B) As and when JEE Mains 2021 result is declared, admissions for vacant seats (if any) in subsequent rounds of counselling will be done based on JEE Mains 2021 All India rank (AIR) only. For admission on the basis of JEE Mains 2021, a candidate must fulfil the following eligibility criteria:
a) Passed 10+2 or equivalent examination (passed 10+2 examination in 2019, 2020 or appearing in 2021) with at least 60% marks (55% for SC/ST candidates) in aggregate of three subjects, namely, Physics, Mathematics and any one subject out of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology and Technical Vocational subject )listed above).
b) Appeared in JEE (Main)-2021.
c) Possess a good moral character.
d) Be a citizen of India.
Admission schedule
a) Last date for receipt of completed application forms: August 2nd, 2021
(to be eligible for three rounds of online counselling)
b) Display of first list of selected candidates: August 10, 2021
Deposit of fee by the candidates: August 10- August 14, 2021
c) Display of second list of selected candidates: August 19, 2021
Deposit of fee by the candidates of second list: August 19- August 24, 2021
d) Display of third list of selected candidates: August 31, 2021
Deposit of fee by the candidates of third list: August 31- September 4, 2021
Note : Application form will remain open after the last date (August 2nd, 2021). However, candidates who will be applying after 2nd August, 2021, will not be considered for first three rounds of online counselling (10th August, 19th August and 31st August, 2021).
