Applications to IIIT-Hyderabad Ongoing
2021-03-30The International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H), a Deemed University founded in 1998, has started the 2020 Application process for admissions to its 4 years UG B.Tech and 5-Year Integrated B.Tech+MS programs. IIIT-H was set up by leading luminaries of the Indian IT industry and the institute has a stellar record of research orientation and placements in the Technology sector.
Programs offered:
4-Year B.Tech Programs in:
a) B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) - 10 seats
b) B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) - 10 seats
Admission modes to 4-Year B.Tech programs:
1. via special channel SPEC mode for candidates who have
a) Qualified for the UDAAN scheme of CBSE or
b) Candidates are currently enrolled in an integrated, six-year, 12th + B.Tech programme (after the 10th class).
2. via JEE Main scores
a) ECE - 60 seats
b) CSE - 90 seats
Average JEE Opening marks & closing marks for the last few years have been as follows:
CSE: Opening: 325 || Closing: 256
ECE: Opening: 265 || Closing: 215
3. via Direct Admissions for Students Abroad (DASA)
a) ECE - 10 seats
b) CSE - 25 seats
c) CND/CLD/CHD: 2 Seats per program
This route is for students who have Studied XI and XII, or equivalent outside India, or those who hold a foreign passport.
Test required: a) Evidence based Reading and Writing (SAT) and 2) Maths (SAT)
5-Year Dual-Degree B.Tech+MS in Research Programs:
a) B.Tech & M.S in Computer Science & Engineering by Research (CSD)
b) B.Tech & M.S in Electronics and Communication Engineering by Research (ECD)
c) B.Tech in Computer Science & M.S. in Computational Linguistics by Research (CLD)
d) B.Tech in Computer Science & M.S. in Computational Natural Sciences by Research (CND)
e) B.Tech in Computer Science & M.S. in Computing & Human Sciences (CHD)
Admission modes for 5-Year Dual Degree Programs:
1. via UGEE Entrance Exam
a) CSD: 25 seats
b) ECD: 30 seats
c) CLD: 15 seats
d) CND: 15 seats
e) CHD: 12 seats << Humanities students with Maths can apply
2. KVPY & Olympiad Route:
a) Applicants who have been selected to represent India in the following Olympiads: International Olympiad on Informatics (IOI), Science Olympiad (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Astronomy) or Mathematics Olympiad conducted by Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education (HBCSE) under the control of Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) or International Linguistics Olympiad (IOL) / Paninian Linguistics Olympiad (PLO).
b) Applicants with KVPY rank of 5000 or better.
c) Students can apply to the 4 Dual-degree programs (CND/CLD/CSD/ECD). Applicants who have been selected for the Indian team at the certified International Olympiads are also eligible to choose the 4-year undergraduate programs ECE or CSE.
3. via Direct Admissions for Students Abroad (DASA)
a) CND/CLD/CHD : 6 seats
This route is for students who have Studied XI and XII, or equivalent outside India, or those who hold a foreign passport
Both SAT and SAT Subject Test scores are mandatory for application; the essay part of SAT is not required.
