Presidency Univ cancels PUBDET-2020 Exam

In a notification, the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board, WBJEE has announced that the PUBDET-2020 examination and counselling for admissions to UG programs in the Presidency University, Kolkata, stand cancelled due to the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.

The exam was postponed twice already due to the raging pandemic and now on the advice of the University, the WBJEEB has canceled the exam.

The Presidency University is likely to admit students solely based on the merit of the qualifying exam, i.e., the marks obtained in the Madhyamik (Class 10 & equivalent) and the Class 12 board exam marks.   The detailed mechanism shall be announced by the University in due course.

About the University: Presidency University was established by the British in 1817 as the Hindoo College.  Later it was a  Constituent College of Calcutta University.  The formal establishment of Presidency University happened in July 2010. The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has until now conducted the entrance exam PUBDET for admissions to undergraduate programs - B.A. and B.Sc (Hons) at Presidency University.  The University offers UG programs for the following courses:
Physics, Political Science, Geography, Hindi, Mathematics, Philosophy, Sociology, Perf Arts, Geology, History, Chemistry, Bengali, Statistics, English, Life Sciences, Economics
