Panjab Univ scraps PUTHAT 2020, Apply by 19 Aug

Panjab University offers 4 years Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology and also 4 years Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management in University Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management, Chandigarh. The admission to both the courses is generally through the admission test PUTHAT, which has been CANCELLED for 2020 owing to the pandemic situation.

New admission criteria : The admissions this year will be provided on the basis of merit prepared as per the marks obtained in qualifying examination (10+2).

Revised dates and next steps

a) The candidates seeking admission to BHMCT and BTTM courses for the academic session 2020-21 (other than those who have already applied for the PUTHAT entrance Test 2020)

- have to register themselves at PUTHAT website by August 19, 2020 by submitting their information,

- deposit the registration fee by August 21, 2020,

- upload the photograph, signature and rest of the information by August 24, 2020

b) All the registered candidates (including those who have applied earlier for the  PUTHAT entrance test) will be allowed for filling the Admission Form. The Admission form will be available on PUTHAT website. The candidates who have applied earlier and completed their form for the PUTHAT entrance test will automatically be considered as registered candidates and are eligible for filling of Admission Form.

c) Last date for submission of admission form along with all related documents : 5 Sep 2020

d) Display of tentative merit list : 14 Sep 2020

Course wise intake

(a) Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) : 60 + 6 NRI +3 Foreign Nationals)

(b) 4 years Bachelor of Tourism and Travel Management (BTTM) : 30 +3 NRI + 2 Foreign Nationals

Additional Seats available for following :

(i) One girl child out of the only two girl children

(ii) Cancer, AIDS and Thalassemia patient

(iii) Wards of Kashmiri Displaced Persons

(iv) Rural Area Students

(v) Border Area Students

(vi) Youth Festival Participants

Eligibility : Admission is open to all such candidates who have passed (up to the Academic Session 2019-2020) in the 10+2 Examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi or its equivalent Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University/Council with not less than 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST/BC/PwD Categories) in the aggregate and English as one of the Compulsory Subjects.
