Ambedkar Univ Delhi admissions : Liberal and Vocational Courses

Application are ongoing for 2020 admissions in Undergraduate courses in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University Delhi.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University Delhi (Ambedkar University Delhi or AUD) was established by the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi in July 2008. AUD has been conceived as a unitary university focusing largely on research and higher learning in areas of knowledge broadly under the domain of social sciences, humanities and the liberal arts.

AUD is currently operating out of its three campuses at Kashmere Gate, Karampura and Lodhi Road. AUD hopes to move into its permanent campuses at Dheerpur and Rohini in the next five years.

The programmes offered by the School of Business, Public Policy and Social Entrepreneurship, School of Culture and Creative Expressions, School of Design, School of Development Studies, School of Human Studies, School of Human Ecology, School of Letters, School of Liberal Studies and School of Undergraduate Studies are available at the Kashmere Gate Campus.

The programmes offered by the School of Global Affairs, School of Law, Governance and Citizenship and the School of Vocational Studies are available at the Karampura Campus.

The programmes offered by the School of Education Studies are available at the Lodhi Road Campus.

1. Courses, Intake (excluding Supernumerary seats) and Eligibility Criteria

a) Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)

Intake : 44 seats

Applicants need to have passed the class XII examination with at least 50% marks from CBSE or any recognised Board. (Relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/PwBD/DOBC(NCL)/Defence/KM).

b) Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies , Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences and Humanities, Bachelor of Arts in Sustainable Urbanism

Intake : 63 seats in each course

Applicants need to have passed the class XII examination with at least 50% marks from CBSE or any recognised Board. (Relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/PwBD/DOBC(NCL)/Defence/KM).

c) Bachelor of Arts in Law And Politics

Intake : 63 seta

Applicants need to have passed the class XII examination with at least 50% marks from CBSE or any recognised Board. (Relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/PwBD/DOBC(NCL)/Defence/KM).

d) Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with a Major in Economics

Intake : 44 seats

Applicants need to have passed the class XII examination with at least 50% marks from CBSE or any recognized Board with at least passing marks in Mathematics. (Relaxation of 5% marks for SC / ST / PwBD / D-OBC (NCL) / Defence / KM)

e) Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with a Major in English

Intake : 44 seats

Applicants need to have passed the class XII examination with at least 50% marks from CBSE or any recognised Board with at least 65% marks in English. (Relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/PwBD/D-OBC (NCL)/Defence/KM).

f) Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with a Major in History

Intake : 44 seats

Applicants need to have passed the class XII examination with at least 50% marks from CBSE or any recognised Board. (Relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/PwBD/D-OBC (NCL)/Defence/KM).

g) Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with a Major in Mathematics

Intake : 44 seats

Applicants need to have passed the class XII examination with at least 50% marks from CBSE or any recognised Board with at least 65% marks in Mathematics. (Relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/PwBD/D-OBC (NCL)/Defence/KM)

h) Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with a Major in Psychology

Intake : 44 seats

Applicants need to have passed the class XII examination with at least 50% marks from CBSE or any recognised Board. (Relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/PwBD/D-OBC (NCL)/Defence/KM).

i) Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with a Major in Sociology

Intake : 44 seats

Applicants need to have passed the class XII examination with at least 50% marks from CBSE or any recognised Board. (Relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/PwBD/D-OBC (NCL)/Defence/KM)

j) Bachelor of Arts (Honours) with a Major in Social Sciences and Humanities

Intake : 44 seats

Applicants need to have passed the class XII examination with at least 50% marks from CBSE or any recognised Board. (Relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/PwBD/D-OBC (NCL)/Defence/KM).

k) BVoc Early Childhood Care Management and Entrepreneurship (ECCME), BVoc Tourism & Hospitality (T&H), BVoc Retail Management (RM), BVoc Accounting and Finance (A&F)

Intake : 44 seats in each course

Applicants need to have passed the class XII examination from CBSE or any recognised Board.

2. Age limit

Min 17 years, Maximum 25 years (45 years for BVoc)

3. Selection Criteria

Admission in all the above courses will be based on the merit prepared as per the marks obtained in qualifying examination.

In BVoc courses, admission will be offered on the basis of Class 12 marks (80% weightage) + Vocational Subject in class 10+2 (10% weightage) + Statement of Purpose in around 500 words (10% weightage).

4. Reservation

a) 85% seats are reserved for Candidates belonging to National Capital Territory of Delhi, i.e. those who have passed the qualifying examination from any School/College/University located in NCT of Delhi. The candidates who have passed the qualifying examination through Distance/Open Education system of any recognized School/College/University and had his/her Study Centres in Delhi will be considered as NCT of Delhi Candidates but the responsibility to provide proof of his/her study centre in Delhi will be of the candidate only.

b) 15% seats are reserved for Candidates Outside National Capital Territory of Delhi, i.e. those who have passed the qualifying examination from any School/College/University located outside Delhi. The candidates who have passed the qualifying examination through Distance/Open Education system of any recognized School/College/University and had his/her Study Centres Outside Delhi will be considered as Outside Delhi Region Candidates but the responsibility to provide proof of his/her study centre outside Delhi will be of the candidate only.

4. Hostel : AUD has at present limited hostel facilities. A few seats are available for girl students in the Kashmere Gate and Karampura campus. Students can apply for hostel accommodation once they have secured admission. The application form and details for hostel accommodation will be available at the Student Service Division and on the AUD website at the time of admission.

5. Application fee : Rs. 390 per undergraduate programme (Rs. 150 per programme for SC/ ST/ PwBD/D-OBC(NCL)/Defence/KM candidates)
