NATA 2020 Applications Started, Test Pattern Changed
2020-02-02National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA), conducted by Council of Architecture, is scheduled to be held twice, once in April and once in May this year and applications process for the same has been started. Interestingly, this year, CoA has decided to introduce some changes in the test pattern.
Key changes in NATA test pattern
(a) Changes in Drawing Section
(i) Instead of 2 questions of 40 marks each, the Drawing section will now have 3 questions, carrying 35 marks, 35 marks & 55 marks, respectively
(ii) Time duration reduced from 2 Hours to 1 Hour 15 Minutes
(b) Changes in Online MCQ Section
(i) Earlier, this contained 20 questions in Mathematics and 40 in General Aptitude, each carrying 2 marks. Now, this section will have 50 questions, each carrying 1.5 marks, and will be structured as below :
- 15 questions in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and
- 35 questions in General Aptitude & Logical Reasoning
(ii) Time duration for this section is reduced from 1 Hour to 45 Minutes
Eligibility for taking NATA
Passed 10+2 scheme of examination with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) and also at least 50% marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination or passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
The candidates appearing for 10+2 examination with PCM or 10+3 Diploma with Mathematics in the current year may also provisionally appear for NATA-2020, subject to fulfilling the above criteria.
The candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC-NCL category or PwD (Persons with disability) shall be provided a relaxation of 5% marks in total aggregate in 10+2 level/10+3 Diploma as well as PCM.
Note : Qualifying in NATA does not constitute a right / guarantee in favour of the candidate for his / her admission to any architecture course unless he / she has fulfilled all the prescribed requirements as specified by respective competent authorities.
