FLAME University, Pune, has started its 2020 admission process with the onset of Early Decision Cycle.

About the university : FLAME University is a State private university, recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It is a Jain Minority Institution. FLAME has been set up with an idealistic vision and a social commitment to contribute to society in a noble manner. FLAME has been created as an academic institution anchored in Liberal Education. Spread on 60 acres of green expanse, It consists of following four schools :

FLAME School of Business

FLAME School of Communication

FLAME School of Fine & Performing Arts

Undergraduate courses offered : FLAME University offers three-year UG programs as listed below

a) BA

b) BA (Hons)*

c) B.Sc.

d) B.Sc. (Hons)**

e) BBA

f) BBA (Communications Management)

*BA (Hons) program is offered in Economics. Minors are not available in the Honours program.

**B.Sc. (Hons) program is offered in Computer Science. Minors are not available in the Honours program.

Additionally, it offers the option to enroll for The FLAME Scholars Program which will build on the strengths of the undergraduate program and shall be a seamless extension of the same. The FLAME Scholars Program is a one-year post-graduate diploma program that empowers the student with knowledge and skills that will help them perform efficiently in their chosen career. Research and scholarship in inter-disciplinary areas are an integral part of the program. The courses that constitute this program are highly specialized and will go beyond the three-year undergraduate curriculum with innovations in content, delivery, and structure.

Selection process

For selection, following aspects of application are taken into consideration :

- Admission Test (FEAT/SAT/ACT)

- Essay

- Personal Interview

- Past Academic Record

- Extracurricular activities/ achievements

- Statement of Purpose (SOP)

As an applicant, if you score below average in your entrance test, but your application is strong in other aspects, chances are you might still get an offer from FLAME University.

Eligibility

a) In the case of Higher Secondary School Certificate or State Boards, CBSE and CISCE (Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations), 40% marks in 12th standard with English as one of the subjects is the minimum requirement. If you wish to pursue BBA subsequently, 45% is the minimum requirement in 12th standard.

b) In the case of International Baccalaureate students, a diploma is the minimum requirement. International Baccalaureate certificate students are not eligible for admission.

c) In the case of Cambridge students (GCE/IGCSE/GCSE examinations of the approved British Examination Bodies), ‘A’ Level certificate is the minimum requirement, with 5 (Five) subjects in A, B, C Grades including English at Ordinary (‘O’) Level and 3 (Three) subjects at Advanced Level.

d) In case of High school diploma awarded by an accredited American School/International School in other countries following American System of Education accredited either by the State Departments of Education OR by one of the following Six Regional Accrediting Agencies in USA:

- Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges

- New England Association of Schools and Colleges

- North Central Association of Schools and Colleges

- Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges

- Southern Association of Schools and Colleges

- Western Association of Schools and Colleges

e) Applicants who have obtained 10+2 equivalent qualification from a foreign university / board / institution, other than above shall have to submit an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi along with a transcript of marks.

f) In order to be eligible to pursue 'Honours degree program in Economics' or 'Honours degree program in Computer Science' you must have passed Mathematics as one of the subjects at 12th or equivalent level (Subject to additional requirements mentioned in the academic handbook).

g) Candidates in their 12th standard or equivalent class can also apply, provided they can produce their 12th passing certificate / mark sheet before 31st August. Admission of such a candidate shall be strictly provisional till s/he submits a valid proof of passing the 12th or equivalent level examination before the prescribed last date, failing which the admission shall automatically stand withdrawn without any further notice.

h) FLAME accepts SAT/ACT scores if you do not wish to take FEAT. It does not specify a cut off score for SAT/ACT which would guarantee you an admission in FLAME, as the SAT/ACT score is only one of the parameters considered for selection. Needless to say, a high SAT/ACT score improves your chances of selection.

Application aspects

FLAME University has an online application process. You are required to provide information such as your entrance level tests scores, personal contact details, educational qualifications, achievements/ extracurricular activities and statement of purpose, etc.

An admission test is a mandatory qualifying criterion for admission to FLAME University. It has its own admission test called the FLAME Entrance Aptitude Test (FEAT) for Indian applicants. It also accepts SAT / ACT scores for admission. In the application form you need to indicate whether you wish to appear for FEAT.

If you do not wish to appear for FEAT, you need to provide your SAT / ACT scores. FLAME University's DI Code for SAT applicants is 6784. All applicants applying with the SAT / ACT score need to send their official transcripts.

You also need to provide your centre preference for FEAT (if applicable) and Essay / Personal Interview (PI). FEAT and Essay / PI are held on the same day.

FLAME University will try to schedule your Essay / PI at your preferred centre. However, the university is not obligated to allot your indicated centre, and may schedule your Essay / PI at a center of its own choice.

FLAME Entrance Aptitude Test (FEAT), Essay and Personal Interview (PI)

After you submit your application, FLAME University will conduct a preliminary screening to shortlist candidates for FEAT (if applicable), Essay and Personal Interview (PI). If you are shortlisted, you will be intimated about the centre and date of assessment. FEAT, Essay and Personal Interview (PI) are conducted on the same day. FEAT is a written examination divided into 4 sections given below:

a) Verbal Ability

b) Reasoning Ability

c) Quantitative Ability

d) General Knowledge

Total duration of the FEAT (MCQ based) shall be 120 minutes. Students will get additional 15 minutes to complete the essay.

For candidates who have submitted their SAT/ACT scores, only Essay / PI will be conducted (FEAT is optional for them).

Fee structure

First and Second year

Programme fee : Rs.5,60,000/-per year

Lodging & boarding : Rs1,60,000 per year

Other : Rs.50,000/- per year

Refundable caution deposit (one-time, at the time of admission) : Rs.50,000/-

Note

- Some miscellaneous costs like field trips for experiential learning courses, equipment, stationery, consumables, printing etc. are not included in the above mentioned fees.

- Fee for third year is subject to revision by upto 5%

Admission cycles key dates : Admissions to FLAME University occur in five distinct cycles.

If you make an early decision to apply to FLAME, you can participate in the first cycle. Your decision to apply early is not binding on you, in case you receive an offer of admission from FLAME University. However, selected candidates will have to complete the admission requirements before the stated deadlines in their offer letters.

The second and fourth cycles are campus rounds, where the University conducts its own assessment process during a dedicated weekend in the month of January and March on FLAME University's campus in Pune.

You may also choose the regular application cycles (third and fifth cycle), which will take place in selected cities across India, like the early decision cycle.
