Oberoi STEP 2019 applications started
2019-02-18STEP (Systematic Training and Education Programme) is a 3 year programme that offers practical training at a hotel of The Oberoi Group. Students are trained in the four core operational departments of a hotel : Front Office, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage Service and Kitchen. In addition to practical training in a hotel of The Oberoi Group, students are enrolled for a Bachelor Degree in Tourism Studies (BTS) from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). Assistance is provided in the form of a dedicated study day once a week, IGNOU fees, reference books and an additional three weeks leave to enable students to take the IGNOU exams. Additionally, a monthly stipend, accommodation, meals on duty, uniform and medical insurance is also provided.
Selection proecure : Selection is done through a 3 Rounds, each one focusing on different aspects.
Round 1 : Candidates are evaluated for grooming, poise and spoken English.
Round 2 : One-on-one meeting with a panel comprising of faculty. Here, the evaluator gets to know the candidates better and checks their aptitude for hospitality.
Round 3 : Round of activities and questionnaires including a final interview with a panel. This may be on a different day and city than the above two rounds.
Key dates
Selection process will be carriedout from 4 to 16 April 2019, depending upon the test centre chosen by the student.
