CBSE decides to extend diluted pass criteria for Class X

CBSE, vide it circular CBSE/Coord/DS/EC/2018 dated  11 Oct 2018 has decided to extend the diluted pass marks criteria for Class X students for 2019 and thereafter. As per the criteria, students are required to obtain 33% percent marks overall – not separately in internal assessment and the term end board exam. The old criteria which was applicable in 2018 and has now been extended further reads as below :

1. All candidates who had appeared in the exam as per the scheme of studies were exempted from separate pass criteria in internal assessment board examination. The result was computed in each subject taking into account combined marks obtained in internal assessment and board exam and those who secured 33% marks were declared as pass in that subject.

2. In case of a candidate being absent in practical / internal assessment, the marks were treated as zero and result was computed accordingly.
